Cleaner Coffee Swaps ☕️
Simple swaps for your morning brew ❤️🥰
For the last few years, I have definitely been more of a matcha girl than a coffee girl, but lately I have been craving coffee! Unfortunately, there are so many hidden toxins that can be found in coffee. From pesticides to mycotoxins and more. As someone who has a history of mold exposure, I also try to avoid it in my food as much as possible.
Plus, most coffee is brewed in a machine that contains plastic that can leach endocrine-disrupting chemicals when heated! Single use pods are also typically made of plastic or aluminum. Some machines also use non-stick coating. Another concern is that many coffee machines can’t be thoroughly cleaned because they can’t be opened.
As always, I encourage you to do the best you can! There was a time I was struggling so much with fatigue that I was drinking 3 coffees per day from a Keurig (one on an empty stomach) and that was DEFINITELY not good for me.

Have you seen the third party testing for lead and cadmium in these coffees? I know coffee tends to be less than cacao, just wondering. Consumer Reports and Tamara Rubin have been doing a lot of work in this space.
